Configuration Menu Importer Settings
From Moving Pictures
Here is the Importer Settings tab on the Moving-Pictures configuration menu:
What is an Importer
An 'importer' is a tool to pull information about your movie. There are three types of importers:
1: Movie Details - Gets information such as Director, Actors, Summery, etc.
2: Cover Art - Gets cover art (The picture on the case of the DVD.)
3: Backdrop - Gets the 'backdrop' (This is the full screen picture seen on a selected movie.)
These are broken into two categories Movie Details Importers and Artwork Importers.
Movie Details Importers
Here is you set the following:
- Auto Approval Rate
- This sets how strict Moving-Pictures is about matching a file to a movie.
- Ignore possible matches with incorrect year
- This makes it so an importer search does not return movies that do not from the same year as the movie file (determined from file name).
- Prefer folder name for movie matching
- If Moving-Pictures determines that there is only one movie file in a folder, it will will use the folder name to try to find matches rather than the file name.
- Always group files in same folder
- This makes it so every item in a folder is treated as the same movie, and the folder name is used for movie matching on the importer.
- Scan movie folder for info files with the following extensions
- In the text box below this option, you can set what file types to look for delimited by ';'. If one of these files is found, Moving-Pictures tries to use this as a data source for movie information for the movie in that folder. Below the text box there is an option to make this data source not automatically approved.
- Button to take you to the 'Data Sources' window.
Artwork Importers
- Maximum number of covers to download per movie
- This sets the number of cover art items that the Cover Art Importer will retrieve. (Default is 9)
- Search movie folders for cover art named
- This is a '|' (pipe) delimited list of file names the Cover Art Importer will look for in the folder that the movie file is in. If this option is enabled and a matching file is found, that file will be included in the cover art for the movie.
- Search movie folders for backdrops named
- This is a '|' (pipe) delimited list of file names the Backdrop Importer will look for in the folder that the movie file is in. If this option is enabled and a matching file is found, that file will be included in as the backdrop for the movie.
- The two buttons at the bottom of this screen will take you to the 'Data Sources' window.
